DOMBRESKY & TORREN FOOT REMIX 'MAKE LOVE NOT WAR'

‘Make Love Not War’ featuring Nathan Nicholson is one of the outstanding tracks of Claptone’s recent album ‘Closer’ and nothing less than a statement. French DJ and producer Dombresky and Melbourne artist Torren Foot have unveiled remixes of the track, out 16th September.

Kicking off the package, Dombresky delivers a slick disco house remix of ‘Make Love Not War’, paying homage to his French roots. This is juxtaposed with Torren Foot’s dark, hypnotic dancefloor groover including a more than dramatic breakdown, before Claptone himself closes things out with an ethereal Balearic rework made for those special club moments. ‘Make Love Not War’ is the 8th single from ‘Closer’ after ‘Golden', 'My Night', 'Wake Up', 'Just A Ghost', 'Right Into You', 'Queen Of Ice' and ‘Beautiful’. Claptone has been collaborating with Nathan Nicholson since album one ‘Charmer’, and they had previous success with singles such as ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Under The Moon’.

Enigma of the electronic world, Claptone delivers one of summer 2022’s most in-demand remixes for his single debut on Defected. An unmistakable homage to one of the 2000’s most iconic club records by Rune, a big rubbery bassline and brassy saxophone hook give this ‘Calabria’ remix its warm familiarity sure to enthral dancefloors. Under his trademark Venetian guise, Claptone continues to be one of dance’s most majestic acts; fresh off the back of his lauded third studio album ‘Closer’ and with his spellbinding The Masquerade parties taking over iconic Ibiza club Pacha weekly all-summer-long, this Defected release continues to demonstrate an artist at the top of his game.

New Remixes of "Feel This Way" ft. Mayer Hawthorne by Andhim and Gettoblaster

By Daniel Brems

New Remixes of "Feel This Way" ft. Mayer Hawthorne by Andhim and Gettoblaster

Following the Pet Shop Boys Remix to "Queen Of Ice", the mysterious and world renowned DJ/Producer Claptone has now enlisted Gettoblaster, hailed by Complex as the “finest in ghetto house”, and eclectic super-house duo Andhim, to each remix "Feel This Way", featuring the soul-pop icon, Mayer Hawthorne. In addition to the remixes, Claptone has provided his own Dub Mix. The remixes are available on all streaming platforms today via Different Recordings.

Gettoblaster offers a twisted slant on Claptone’s sophisticated sound, infusing the original with their Chicago and Detroit underground roots into what is a superb, jackin’ remix. Andhim delivers a club infused pop remix, with an infectious arrangement, bubbling with bright melodies and a rumbling bass line that’s sure to get any party started. Claptone’s dub mix provides an insatiable groove, ready to storm the dance floors and festival stages.

“The first time I asked Andhim for a remix was around 2015 for a track on my first album 'Charmer' and I’ve been asking and pushing them ever since. I love their productions and their music. I’m very happy that they said yes to remix ‘Feel this Way’. On the other end of the spectrum I share the same love for the ruff grooves of Gettoblaster and their powerful bass infused style. What they delivered for a remix blew me away, it's a staple in my DJ sets recently. Having both remixes on the release to me is a perfect combination and it shows where I can go in my own sets when I play these out.” - Claptone

“It’s time to dance again. This track takes me back to illegal warehouse parties in Detroit and an era of unbridled excess. Here’s to feeling good all the time.” - Mayer Hawthorne

"We are super happy we could finally do a remix for our friend Claptone. It was a lot of fun working with the original track and give it a little summery andhim twist." - Andhim

"We are so excited about this project. Piano’s, bass lines, infectious vocals! This one has been doing work on our dance floors around the world the last few months!" - Gettoblaster

“Feel This Way” is the eighth single from Claptone’s globally renowned third album 'Closer', co-produced by Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, The Killers, Madonna) that was released in November 2021. Along with support from shrewd talents, Claptone enlisted timeless vocalists from a myriad of eras such as Barry Manilow and Seal, fresh-faced acts like James Vincent McMorrow and Mansionair, as well as repeat collaborators Nathan Nicholson and Peter Bjorn and John (to name a few). Quoted as “enlarging Claptone’s legacy even more”, ‘Closer’ has enjoyed global success, showcasing Claptone’s innate ability to blend commercial and underground elements in perfect fashion.

NEW PET SHOP BOYS REMIX OF LATEST CLAPTONE SINGLE "QUEEN OF ICE" FT. DIZZY OUT NOW

By Lilly Rumler

NEW PET SHOP BOYS REMIX OF LATEST CLAPTONE SINGLE "QUEEN OF ICE" FT. DIZZY OUT NOW
Claptone has now tapped legendary UK duo Pet Shop Boys to remix his single, “Queen Of Ice” ft. Dizzy, from his widely celebrated album ‘Closer’. Following up the Nora En Pure remix, Pet Shop Boys flip “Queen Of Ice” into a sensational remix, infused with captivating pop and house elements. To coincide with this news, Claptone also announces his first round of North American dates for 2022.

Pet Shop Boys are masters at captivating the listener instantly, as an icey ambiance builds into an infectious dance groove paired with Dizzy’s beautiful vocals. In true Pet Shop Boys style, this remix boasts dancefloor and radio appeal, taking the popularity of the original to dazzling new heights.

“When my remix for ‘Love Is A Bourgeois Construct’ was released in December of 2013, I felt that it was the peak of Claptone. But three artist albums and countless hit songs later I can proudly say I was wrong. Still, I felt like I was on top of the world back then and I feel the same way today as Pet Shop Boys return the favor and remix 'Queen of Ice‘ ft. Dizzy. Almost 40 years ago they started creating club-influenced pop, opening up doors for underground club music on the radio and in the charts. Their work in the 80s, 90s and 2000’s is the reason why dance music is in the DNA of every top hit today. Moreover I am deeply impressed about how they managed to stay in charge of their own image, creating ever changing avatars of themselves before that word was common goods, hence fighting any notion of authenticity and rockism, consistently emphasizing the act of performance. They are true pioneers still producing great music and expanding their very own world, what an inspiration.” - Claptone

“Queen Of Ice” is the seventh single from Claptone’s globally renowned third album 'Closer', co-produced by Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, The Killers, Madonna) that was released in November 2021.
